NanoAvionics hires US, Europe executives, opens US facility

European-based and American-owned NanoAvionics has announced hiring a pair of executives and opening up a facility in the United States.

Franklin Brent Abbott, the former chief executive for AAC/Clyde Space North America, will join the company as CEO of NanoAvionics US. He will operate out a new office in Midland, Texas.  Abbott has more than 20 years of experience in the space industry, having previously worked for AAC/Clyde Space, Surry Space Technologies US, and Honeywell Defense and Space.

Robin Sampson will be Business Development Manager for NanoAvionics UK and Western Europe. He will operate out of an office at Harwell Campus, Oxfordshire. Sampson was the founder of fintech company Trade in Space, and worked for Clyde Space for nine years in a number of positions, including Head of Business Development.

NanoAvionics currently has 80 employees. The company boasts it has implemented over 75 success satellite missions and commercial projects.

Doug Mohney

Doug Mohney, a principal at Cidera Analytics, has been working and writing about IT and satellite industries for over 20 years.
